WHO IS ISRAEL? -YAHUAH and the relationship with HIS PEOPLE

Yahuah promises to make a great nation through Abram.

Genesis 12:1-3

The Calling of Abram "Then YAHUAH said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s house hold, and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.…"

Establishment of an everlasting covenant between Yahuah and Abram and Abram’s seed.

Genesis 17:7

"I will establish My covenants an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you."

The covenant was passed down from Abraham and Isaac to “Israel” (name changed here).

Genesis 35:10-12

"And YHWH said to him, “Though your name is Jacob, you will no longer be called Jacob. Instead, your name will be Israel.” So YAH named him Israel."

Yahuah establishes Himself as the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and calls His people the children of Israel.

Exodus 3:15

" YHWH also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘YHWH, the ELOHIM of your fathers—the ELOHIM of Abraham, the ELOHIM of Isaac, and the ELOHIM of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation."

A mixed multitude went out with the children of Israel and Yahuah says there is only ONE Torah (instructions) for the native-born and the sojourner (mixed multitude).

Exodus 12:37-39

The Exodus Begins "The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Succoth with about 600,000 men on foot, besides women and children. And a mixed multitude also went up with them, along with great droves of live stock, both flocks and herds. Since their dough had no leaven, the people baked what they had brought out of Egypt into unleavened loaves. For when they had been driven out of Egypt, they could not delay and had not prepared any provisions for themselves.…"

Exodus 12:49

"The same law shall apply to both the native and the foreigner who resides among you.”

Yahuah explains the covenant between Him and the children of Israel (including multitude).

Exodus 19:3-6

"Then Moses went up to ELOHIM, and YHWH called to him from the mountain, “This is what you are to tell the house of Jacob and explain to the sons of Israel: ‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. "Now if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My treasured possession out of all the nations—for the whole earth is Mine. And unto Me you shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to speak to the Israelites."

Deuteronomy 18:15-19

"Prophecy given regarding a Prophet like Moses who will rise up for the children of Israel and speak The Words of Yahuah.

The covenant made with Yahuah and His people-Israel, and a prophetic foretelling of a disobedience to the covenant causing Yahuah to scatter His people-Israel among the nations.

Deuteronomy 29 & 30 (Read both Chapters)

The children of Israel begged to have a king placed over them.

It was not the desire of Yahuah for His people so Yahuah warned them what would happen if a king ruled over them.

The people refused to listen to Yahuah. Yahuah allows Samuel to place a king over His people.

1 Samuel 8:4-22

Israel Demands a King (Also Deuteronomy 17:14–20)

"When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second was Abijah. They were judges in Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his ways; they turned aside toward dishonest gain, accepting bribes and perverting justice."

"So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. 5“Look,” they said, “you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king to judge us like all the other nations."

"But when they said, “Give us a king to judge us,” their demand was displeasing in the sight of Samuel; so he prayed to YHWH."

And YHWH said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you. For it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected Me as their king. Just as they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking Me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. Now listen to them, but you must solemnly warn them and show them the manner of the king who will reign over them."

Samuel’s Warning

"So Samuel spoke all the words of YHWH to the people who were asking him for a king. He said, "This will be the manner of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them to his own chariots and horses, to run in front of his chariots."

"He will appoint some for himself as commanders of thousands and of fifties, and others to plow his ground, to reap his harvest, to make his weapons of war, and to equip his chariots."

"And he will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his servants."

"He will take a tenth of your grain and grape harvest and give it to his officials and servants. And he will take your menservants and maidservants and your best cattle and donkeys and put them to his own use."

"He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will beg for relief from the king you have chosen, but YHWH will not answer you on that day."

YHWH Grants the Request

"Nevertheless, the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We must have a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to judge us, to go out before us, and to fight our battles."

"Samuel listened to all the words of the people and repeated them in the hearing of the YHWH."

"Listen to their voice,” YHWH said to Samuel. “Appoint a king for them." Then Samuel told the men of Israel, “Everyone must go back to his city."

Division began within the children of Israel to divide them into two houses (Israel and Judah).

1 Kings 12:21

"And when Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he mobilized the whole house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin—180,000 chosen warriors—to fight against the house of Israel and restore the kingdom to Rehoboam son of Solomon."

Yahuah’s people were divided into the House of Israel and the House of Judah.

1 Kings 16:21

"At that time the people of Israel were divided: Half of the people supported Tibni son of Ginath as king, and half supported Omri."

Yahuah removed the House of Israel from his presence (scattered them among the nations) due to continuous disobedience.

2 Kings 17:7-23

"All this happened because the people of Israel had sinned against YHWH their ELOHIM, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They had worshiped other gods and walked in the customs of the nations that YHWH had driven out before the Israelites, as well as in the practices introduced by the kings of Israel."

"The Israelites secretly did things against YHWH their ELOHIM that were not right. From watchtower to fortified city, they built high places in all their cities. They set up for themselves sacred pillars and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree. "They burned incense on all the high places like the nations that YHWH had driven out before them. They did wicked things, provoking YHWH to anger. They served idols, although YHWH had told them, “You shall not do this thing."

"Yet through all His prophets and seers, YHWH warned Israel and Judah, saying, “Turn from your wicked ways and keep My commandments and statutes, according to the entire Law that I commanded your fathers and delivered to you through My servants the prophets."

"But they would not listen, and they stiffened their necks like their fathers, who did not believe YHWH ELOHIM. They rejected His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They pursued worthless idols and themselves became worthless, going after the surrounding nations that YHWH had commanded them not to imitate."

"They abandoned all the commandments of YHWH their ELOHIM and made for themselves two cast idols of calves and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the host of heaven and served Baal. They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire and practiced divination and soothsaying. They devoted themselves to doing evil in the sight of YHWH, provoking Him to anger."

"So YHWH was very angry with Israel, and He removed them from His presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained, and even Judah did not keep the commandments of YHWH their ELOHIM, but lived according to the customs Israel had introduced. So YHWH rejected all the descendants of Israel. He afflicted them and delivered them into the hands of plunderers, until He had banished them from His presence."

"When YHWH had torn Israel away from the house of David, they made Jeroboam son of Nebat king, and Jeroboam led Israel away from following YHWH and caused them to commit a great sin. The Israelites persisted in all the sins that Jeroboam had committed and did not turn away from them. Finally, YHWH removed Israel from His presence, as He had declared through all His servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their homeland into Assyria, where they are to this day."

Punishment was to come upon House of Judah due to their continuous disobedience, but Yahuah’s promise to David (2 Samuel 7:16) kept Him from destroying them (2 Kings 8:19).

2 Kings 23:27

"For YHWH had said, "I will remove Judah from My sight, just as I removed Israel. I will reject this city Jerusalem, which I chose, and the temple of which I said, ‘My Name shall be there.’"

Prophecy of a “renewed covenant” with the House of Israel and the House of Judah.

Jeremiah 31:31-37

"Behold, the days are coming, declares YHWH, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt— a covenant they broke, though I was a husband to them, declares YHWH!

"But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares YHWH. I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts. And I will be their ELOHIM, and they will be My people."

"No longer will each man teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know YHWH,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares YHWH. For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more."

Thus says YHWH, who gives the sun for light by day, who sets in order the moon and stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—YHWH of Hosts is His name: "Only if this fixed order departed from My presence, declares YHWH, would Israel’s descendants ever cease to be a nation before Me." This is what YHWH says: “Only if the heavens above could be measured and the foundations of the earth below searched out

would I reject all of Israel’s descendants because of all they have done."

Prophecy of gathering the House of Israel from the nations and bringing them back into covenant with Yahuah; Yahuah will cause you to walk in His laws and you shall do them.
