The Feast Days of YHWH

Why are the Feast Days of YAHUAH significant?

YAHUAH commands His set-apart people to remember specific holy days. He tells us to keep them set apart from other days. YAH commands our attention to these days and calls them out by name. He also gives us instructions for keeping them.

Leviticus 23 (chapter here).

We believe that many people are missing the signs that YAH left. People don't know the importance of Feasts days. They don't keep them. In fact, many people in today's "church" community do not even know the names of the Feasts. We are commanded to set them apart from other days because YAH appointed them. YAH's Feast days have meanings in their appointed times and fulfillments. They are prophetic signs. They are the Creator's calendar for us, and even the skies stand as a witness to that testimony.

Genesis 1:14

"And YHWH said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years."

The phrase "the seasons" in Genesis 1:14 is Strong's Hebrew 4150 - moed.

Moed means appointed time.

The Feasts of YAH are prophetic signs:

If you haven't read our blog post, "Are you missing the signs of the times," we encourage you to take some time to read it. We plan to turn that study into a video, but we haven't done it just yet. When we do, a link to that video study will be available on the blog post.

We (DH and Me) believe that all of creation testifies. We can even see the testimony of creation and salvation written in the heavens (Psalm 19:1-2)

The story of creation, salvation, and, yes, even judgment is already written in the Scriptures.

Do you want to hear HIS VOICE??? IT IS WRITTEN!

IT is written, and I believe this with my entire heart. That is the key, reading, and believing His Word, that is the first step to producing fruit in our lives. As we believe in HIS WORD and DO IT, we are literally changed from the inside out.

YAH gave us 7 feasts to remember. As we remember these set-apart days, we are keeping Holy appointments that YAH scheduled, in advance, for us to meet with HIM. YAH's feasts are prophetic signs of MESSIAH. These feasts are pictures of what has been and what will be.

The seven feasts that we are commanded to keep

1) Passover

Israel spared from death by the blood of a lamb on their doorposts.

Exodus 12:12-13

"On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn male, both man and beast, and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt. I am YHWH. The blood on the houses where you are staying will distinguish them; when I see the blood, I will passover you. No plague will fall on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt."

The wages of sin is death. Re-wind back to the first sin of man. Through Adam and Eve, sin entered into the world. Now each man is appointed a time to die, and we are all guilty of breaking the commands. We all deserve death. However, our loving ABBA extends grace to mankind and sent His Son to take the punishment in our place.

The people who believe in Messiah YAHUSHA are spared from death by His blood.

John 6:40

For it is My Father's will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 11:25

YAHUSHA said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.

Romans 5:8

But YHWH proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, YAHUSHA died for us.

MESSIAH YAHUSHA is the Passover Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

2) Unleavened Bread

Israel removed from Egypt also the removal of sin from the set apart people.

Deuteronomy 16:3

"You must not eat leavened bread with it; for seven days you are to eat with it unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left the land of Egypt in haste—so that you may remember for the rest of your life the day you left the land of Egypt."

(Exodus 12:14–28; Leviticus 23:4–8; Numbers 28:16–25)

1st Corinthians 5:6b-8

"Do you not know that a little leaven works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old leaven, that you may be a new unleavened batch, as you really are. For YAHUSHA, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with the old bread, leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and of truth."

Once we receive the grace extended to us, we cannot continue sinning! We must remove the "old leaven" being swept clean, we are made new, and we must walk according to that calling.

1 John 2:1-3

"My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before ABBA YAHUAH—MESSIAH YAHUSHA, the Righteous One. He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.…"

3) First Fruits

The resurrection of Messiah YAHUSHA who is the First Fruit from among the dead.

Leviticus 23:9-11

"And YHWH said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘When you enter the land that I am giving you and you reap its harvest, you are to bring to the priest a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest. And he shall wave the sheaf before YHWH so that it may be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath."

I love the picture of the Messiah that we can find in the Feast of First Fruits. We are commanded to bring the priest a sheaf of the harvest. The priest then waves the sheaf of firstfruits before YAH so that the people are accepted.

This is another picture of MESSIAH YAHUSHA. No man comes to the Father except by MESSIAH YAHUSHA. Messiah, who has indeed been raised as our High Priest. MESSIAH YAHUSHA, having been raised from the dead, has paid the price of death that we all deserve.(Psalm 110:1, Mark 16:19, John 10:9, John 14:6)

1 Corinthians 15:20-21

"But YAHUSHA has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.…"

4) Pentecost (Shavuot)

Leviticus 23:15

"From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you are to count off seven full weeks. You shall count off fifty days until the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to YHWH.…"
